5 Creepy Things Narcissists Do With Your Photos

It’s a silent threat hanging in the air, and they know you’d never feel safe knowing that those digital ghosts exist in their phone, in their cloud, in their sick little kingdom of control. You may never see that folder, but you can feel it as that anxiety, as that gut punch, the phantom fear that your rawest moments are in the hands of someone who could turn them against you at any time they wish.

Guess what? I know of so many people whose private pictures and videos got posted on explicit websites in the form of revenge. The fear you’re feeling is real; you’re not paranoid. You’re not imagining something, you’re remembering something your body already knows.

Number 5: They reuse your photos for new supplies

This is the part that feels like a spiritual violation. You start noticing it right after the discard: pictures that look familiar, backgrounds that match your old apartment, clothes you bought, poses you taught them, even your captions being reused with someone else. Then it hits you: they’re building the same relationship with someone new, using the same template they used with you. Sometimes they even reuse the photos with you in them, cropping your face out, blurring it, or posting it in black and white to make it look artsy.

Other times, they mimic the angles and aesthetics of your pictures with their new partner, same spot, same smiles, same everything, like you were never a person, just a prototype of some kind. This is how they harvest you. I say they never forget you; this is what I mean. They keep you alive through their new lifestyle. Basically, they steal your essence, your moments, and then use them to make someone else feel special, which is another form of betrayal. And then it becomes the new supply’s turn to be erased, copied, or cropped out.
