Number 5: The test of becoming untouchable.
And this is the last one. The instant you know the narcissist doesn’t have any control over you. The instant you cease to seek closure, cease to seek revenge, cease to seek anything from them altogether. Because you finally realize, they were never your demise. They were never in control. They were never powerful. They were broken, fragile people who needed to hurt others to fill the void. You, however, lived through what was supposed to kill you, and nothing can hurt you anymore. Because you see through the lie. You see through the manipulation game. You see the red flags waving in the distance. And when another narcissist attempts to come into your world, you do not play along. You don’t battle.
You don’t respond, because you’ve gotten above them. That is your final triumph and their loss, the narcissistic group ego. This is the test that ends the war, the test that demonstrates you haven’t merely endured you’ve laid the groundwork for flourishing. Not everyone succeeds at these tests. Many become stuck. Many never even have the chance to get out, but you did. You were selected for these wars, not punishment, but shaping. God does not break individuals for nothing.
I can assure you of that personally. He shapes them. He strengthens them and then puts them on a pedestal. You are no longer the individual you were before encountering the narcissist. You are something more, something that cannot be broken. And now you tread this earth with a strength that few will ever know. You are among the few whose soul has endured the darkest storms and has come out stronger than the storm itself. And that’s why nothing can ever shatter you again.
