Number 2. Be Rational
Rationality beats the sly fox. Narcissists are nothing but sly foxes who want to have all the power, so be rational and make them starve. You can do this by setting aside your feelings and emotions; discard them, as they make you an easy target to narcissists.
Rationality means you don’t feel devalued or invalidated when narcissists try to degrade you. It’s about not giving them the pleasure and satisfaction they crave. Counter all harsh remarks by acting based on facts rather than reacting based on emotions. Narcissists are skilled at stirring one’s feelings, using this as a way to sway you.
When they try to guilt-trip you, they may question what you’ve done in return for what they’ve given. Answering this makes you the victim, but you can outsmart them by being rational. You’re not obliged to return favors, especially when they were not asked for in the first place.
