Their inherent difficulty in forming authentic connections prevents them from truly understanding and embodying love. This absence of empathy enables them to inflict harm without remorse.
If you have endured the devastation of encountering such a lie, I extend my deepest empathy, for I have ventured a similar path. This realization awakens a sense of betrayal and prompts questions as to how someone who professed love could be so callous and cruel. So, if we understand their lack of empathy, allows us to recognize their capacity to effortlessly shift from kindness to malice.

Number 6: “You’re worthless.”
This destructive lie unfortunately ensnares many individuals. Over time, individuals who have been in relationships with narcissists and have experienced ongoing abuse and gaslighting—where the narcissist manipulates reality to make the victim doubt their own perceptions, memories, or sanity—may start to internalize this lie.
After enduring such mistreatment for an extended period, victims may gradually disconnect from their true selves and begin to believe that they lack value or worth. The relentless manipulation, criticism, and invalidation from the narcissist can erode their sense of self-worth and identity.
