Number 5: Narcissists deflect the blame onto another person

When narcissists are criticized, they do this clever trick called deflecting. Rather than blaming themselves or even thinking about it, it’s like magic: narcissists deflect attention from themselves and place the finger on someone else. Narcissists redirect the attention onto you rather than taking responsibility for themselves. It’s how they save face for their delicate egos because they can’t admit to being wrong or flawed.
