Everyone around them should give them the attention and admiration they think they deserve. But never should you expect the Narcissist to do the same for you. Narcissists have double standards, and they would lie, manipulate, and deceive to get their way or make you think that they are doing their part in a relationship when they are not.
At the end of the day, we have to remember that Narcissists are not in the business of maintaining healthy relationships, respecting boundaries, or caring about the feelings and well-being of others. As a result, the Narcissist is your worst enemy because they would pretend to love you or care about you while they are looking for ways to destroy you. And it does not matter who you are.
Narcissists destroy their children, parents, partners, friends, business partners, and anyone else who crosses their path. They can destroy people mentally, financially, spiritually, and even physically. They will break you down in whichever way benefits them the most. That is why we cannot trust Narcissists. We cannot allow ourselves to fall prey to their lies and charm.
